 ABSTRACT

The study assessed the Effect of Fuel Subsidy Removal on the Nigerian economy. The study found that the students had negative perception on the removal of fuel subsidy and that the removal of fuel subsidy accelerated a hike in tuition fees, transport fares and other educational resources within the campus amongst others. Based on the findings of the study, the study made the following findings: The federal government should give out loans and bursary to students to enable them execute their academic needs like tuition fees, textbooks, thereby reducing the possibility of school drop outs among students in tertiary institutions, the school authorities should also set up a committee to review the cost of educational resources required by students in carrying out their academic discourse thereby ensuring they become cheaper and accessible to students.
