ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of forensic accounting and financial fraud control in a publicly traded Nigerian corporation. It looked precisely at its impact on financial fraud, financial reporting quality, and internal control systems of selected sampled enterprises in Nigeria. A cross-sectional study approach was used, secondary data were gathered from the annual reports and accounts of a sampled firms. . The data generated from the study were estimated using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimation techniques.

it was observed that Financial crime (FC) have a statistically insignificant and positive associated with forensic accounting (FA) in Nigeria, according to the study. The study also discovered a significant and positive association between financial reporting quality (FR) and forensic accounting (FA) in Nigeria. Finally, the study found that internal control systems (IC) had a positive but insignificant association with forensic accounting (FA) in Nigerian organizations.

The study recommends that enterprises operating in Nigeria should use the service of forensic accountants to improve the integrity of financial reporting in Nigeria.
