ABSTRACT

The study incentives and employee performance was carried out using University of Benin as a case study. The study focused on analysing how incentives such as financial incentives inclusive of monetary rewards such as bonus pay, fridge payments (transportation, housing allowances and so on and as well as other incentives such as employment involvement , employ empowerment and job security impacts the performance of employees in an organization. The study examined how organizations makes room for employees to be part of decisions making in the organization (Employee involvement) and the level of flexibility and freedom giving to employees to carry out their work (Employee empowerment) within the organization in relation to how these factors impacts employee performance. Finally the study examined the level of employment job security, in how their jobs is secured to determine that significant level of their jobs being safe that will motivate them to contribute their best performance in their organization.
