ABSTRACT

This study investigate the factors affecting the choice of Ijaw in multilingual Bayelsa Its objectives are:

1. To determine how gender differences motivate language proficiency, Age and experience English language learning.
2. To examine how these factors affect the pattern of language learning strategy used in Ijaws multilingual community. This study would be beneficial to Izon Educational Planners, Methodologist in general and classroom teachers in particular, thereby facilitating the better understanding of the roles or crucial variation in learning English which between the old and young, male and female. motivation and experience in studying English Language.
