In the course of my research, I made use of questionnaire as my method of data collection in determining the perception of the masses concerning the subject of discuss; Exploring the portrayal of women as political leaders in Kemi Adetiba’s movie -King of Boys. The findings from the study showed that women are negatively represented in the movie industry and this to a large extent has presented the female gender as subdued and influenced the audience perception of women in politics and general affairs. The study recommended that women should be active in changing the narratives and the roles portrayed, movie makers should desist from negative portrayal of women, rather they should be change agents, actively engaged in correcting negative socio-cultural stereotypes against women by educating and sensitizing the public on evils and danger of such stereotypes and Plots should be structured and stories told to proffer positive feminine role models.
