ABSTRACT

This research focuses on the use of eggshell powder as a partial replacement for cement in the production of rigid pavements. The demand for sustainable building materials drives this research, as traditional cement production is energy-intensive and environmentally harmful. The project attempts to lessen the environmental impact of concrete by adding waste materials such as eggshells, which are commonly thrown, while simultaneously investigating potential improvements in its mechanical qualities. A number of tests are included in the inquiry to determine how various eggshell powder percentages impact the concrete's overall durability, flexural strength, and compressive strength, among other important mechanical properties. The findings show that, to a certain extent of substitution, adding eggshell powder can enhance these qualities. This suggests that, when handled properly, waste materials can not only be recycled in construction but also improve the performance of rigid pavements Overall, the findings of this research point to an effective balance between performance and sustainability. By determining optimal levels of eggshell replacement that maintain or improve mechanical characteristics, the study underscores the potential for innovative materials in infrastructure development. This approach not only promotes resource efficiency but also contributes to a more sustainable future in construction practices.
