ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of radio on family planning programmes, a case study of Benin metropolis, utilizing Edo broadcasting service and Independent Television. The study was set to address five research objectives. In this study, a survey research design was adopted, the population comprise Benin metropolis, and however, due to time and financial constraint, the researcher delimited the population of the study to residents of Oredo and Ikpoba Okha. Edo State, a simple random sampling technique was used to select 400 respondents for the study and a questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. The data was interpreted with frequency tables and percentages.
As a result of the field study and analysis of results, the findings revealed that radio is highly effective in family planning programmes.
