The exploration of housing infrastructure across diverse estates reveals significant disparities in access to essential utilities and amenities, reflecting varied socio-economic backgrounds and housing standards within communities. While some estates boast regular electricity supply and private boreholes, others grapple with irregular power and limited access to clean water. Common themes, such as zinc roofs and private toilets, underline practical choices influenced by factors like durability and affordability. Recommendations stemming from this study emphasize targeted infrastructure development initiatives to address gaps in essential utilities like electricity, water supply, and sanitation facilities. Government-backed projects focusing on upgrading existing infrastructure and expanding access to clean water can help ensure equitable provision of services. Engaging residents in planning processes is crucial to identifying priorities and tailoring interventions to specific community needs, fostering a sense of ownership and pride. Furthermore, embracing sustainable practices in housing design, government policy interventions, and comprehensive studies on estate creation and management criteria are recommended.
