ABSTRACT
The relevance of consent in sexual relations in our contemporary society is a discuss which cannot be over emphasized yet it has been understudied in time past, Self -evidently, rape as a menace has affected not just the victims but the society at large. This poses the question: How clear should one be when consenting to sexual relations? Does no always means no? Are there instances when a no actually means a no? Are there cases when rape due to lack of consent can be excused and justified? In light of this, the movie OLOTURE sheds more light on the magnitude of the effects of rape and creates awareness that there are no grounds on which rape can be morally or legally justifiable and permissible in the society by exposing the rot sexual abuse has caused in the society. This work aims at analyzing sexual consent in detail not just to show its importance, but also the worth attached to humans who should be treated not as mere objects but individuals with dignity and the need to be studied in order to have a rape free society.
