ABSTRACT
The broad objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between entrepreneurship development and family role using Benin City Metropolis as a case study. The specific objectives are to evaluate the relationship between family financial support and entrepreneurship development, examine the relationship between parental business role models support and entrepreneurship development, examine the relationship between succession planning and entrepreneurship development and to find out how entrepreneurial intention relate to entrepreneurship development in Nigeria. Respondents consists of the all small business owners in Benin City Metropolis. The sample of this study was limited to one hundred (100) respondent randomly selected. Questionnaire was used as the instrument in this study to collect data. Before processing the responses. The primary data collected was analyzed using statistical analysis tools. Coding will be done in Microsoft Excel 2010 while the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) was used. The finding of the study showed that there is a relationship between family financial support and entrepreneurship development, there is a relationship between parental business role models support and entrepreneurship development, there is no relationship between succession planning and entrepreneurship development. And also it was that discovered entrepreneurial intention is related to entrepreneurship development in Nigeria .
