ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED BY BUSINESS EDUCATION GRADUATES FOR SMALL SCALE OPERATION IN BENIN METROPOLIS

ABSTRAC

T The study the entrepreneurial competencies required by business education graduate for small scale business operation in University of Benin, Benin City. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and answered. The sample size for the study was made up of 100 respondents. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. An analysis of data was done using mean score and standard deviation. The findings from the study include there is high extent to which financial literacy competencies is required by business education graduate for small business operation. It was concluded that innovation, financial literacy, risk taking and goal oriented constituted the entrepreneurial competencies required by business education graduate for small scale business operation in University of Benin, Benin City. The study recommended among others that the Department of Vocational and Technical Education should offer practical workshops focused on financial management tailored to small-scale business operations. By enhancing their financial literacy skills, graduates will be better equipped to manage resources effectively, make informed financial decisions, and navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship.
