ABSTRACT
This study investigated employee relations as a tool for industrial harmony in Life Flour Mill Limited, Sapele, Delta State. The study employed the Human Relations Theory. The survey design was used to investigate the employee relations as a tool for industrial harmony in Life Flour Mill Limited. Nineteen (19) item questionnaire was used to elicit response from 164 samples purposively selected. Data gathered were analyzed and presented quantitatively. The findings showed that majority of the staff agreed that they are satisfied with the current state of employee relations in Life Flour Mill Limited. The study showed that 64% of the respondents were of the view that communication is the most important or key aspect of building workplace relationship and good employee relations gives rise to industrial harmony. It was also discovered that employees were co-operative. However, it showed that employees at Life Flour Mill are not well appreciated and recognized for their effort and outstanding work. Another aspect identified was that employees are not given opportunity to express their opinions. Thus, the study recommended that Life Flour Mill should strive towards appreciating their staff and their staff should receive recognition and praise for good outstanding work. Also, it is important for management to build relationships within the workplace and management should also take out time to get to know their employee personally.
