ABSTRACT
The study investigated employee benefits and performance among nurses in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). The specific objectives of the study were to ascertain the relationship between medically benefit, life insurance, retirement plan, disability insurance and work performance. The study made used of convenience sampling method. With convenience sampling, the samples were selected because they were accessible to the researcher. Findings from the study showed that employee benefit is significant to employee performance.It also discovered that medical benefits have no significant relationship to employee performance. In addition, life insurance has significant relationship to employee performance in the area of study. The study recommended that University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) should continue providing medical benefits to its employees since it will help them create a sense of loyalty and encourage their productivity in the organisation.
