ABSTRACT
The study was conducted to investigate employability skills required by business education graduates for productive work life in Nigeria. Five research questions were raised to the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted to accomplish the objectives of the study. The population of the study consists of all 237 graduates students in Business Education and the sample size of fifty (50) accessible respondents was used for the study. The instrument for data collection was the questionnaire developed by the researcher and was validated by the researcher's supervisor and two other experts from the Department of Vocational and Technical Education. The reliability coefficient was 0.821 was obtained using Cronbach Alpha correlation coefficient method. The data collected were analyzed statistically using the statistical package of social sciences (SPSS) software. The study discovered that Business Education graduates have self- management skill and that Business Education graduates have planning and organizing skill and the study indicated that Business Education graduates have communication skill and also revealed that Business Education graduates have problem solving skill. Finally, the study recommend that business and/or entrepreneurship education should be made compulsory at all levels of education as this study proves it to be important in individual development and that Multinational agencies/companies should support learning of business education as it serves as a basis for economic revival and a main stream activity to enable transformation to take place very fast in the nation.
