EGG SHELL AS SOIL TREATMENT IN AN INTENSIVE SYSTEM OF GIANT AFRICAN LAND SNAILS (Archachatina marginata)

ABSTRACT

This study examined the impact of eggshell supplementation on the growth of Giant West African Land Snails in intensive farming conditions. Eighteen snails were used in each of the three treatments: no supplementation (control), 15% Eggshell, and 30% Eggshell. Weekly measurements of weight, aperture dimensions, and shell thickness were taken. The findings of this study contribute to the understanding of nutritional requirements for optimal growth and shell formation in Giant West African Land Snails, and may have implications for commercial snail farming practices.
