ABSTRACT
This research analyzed the impact of soil erosion on residential development in Agbor and surrounding areas. It explored the issues, conservation techniques, control methods, and proposed appropriate management practices. The study employed a survey research approach by distributing 190 questionnaires to Agbor residents. Descriptive statistics were used to evaluate the collected data. Findings revealed a notable correlation between the effects of soil erosion and the degree of residential development in Agbor. Additionally, a significant relationship was found between the causes of soil erosion and the factors contributing to the deterioration of Agbor and its environs. These findings suggest that soil erosion has caused structural damage and contributed to inadequate settlement design in Agbor. It demonstrates the significant impact of soil erosion on residential areas in Agbor. The study proposes that government agencies and private entities consider implementing drainage systems, embankments, and sand-fill burrow pits to mitigate soil erosion.
