ABSTRACT
Tetrapleura tetraptera ataub is usedin Africa as a spice and in folk medicine. The plant has many ethno-medicinal uses such as anti-ulcer, molluscicidal, antidiabetic, contraceptive, and as a nutritive agent. This study evaluated the potential role of saponin fractions of T. tetraptera stem bark in the treatment of diabetes and the antioxidant effect in streptozotozin induced diabetic rats.
