ABSTRACT
The Phyllanthus amarus plant is one plant that is used to cure so many ailments and widely known for its use in the treatments of various ailments. This plant has been used for over 2000 years and is currently still in use because of its phytochemical constituents and pharmacological uses. In this study, 18 Swiss albino mice were used and they were acclimatized for a period of one week and were divided into three groups and each group had 6 mice that were properly labeled with the use of a color dye to stain different parts of their body parts such as the head, abdomen, leg hand and back. The groups were sectioned into Group 1 (which was the positive control) these mice in this group were not given anything but were properly fed till the time of the vivisection, the Group2 (DMH induced and was later treated with 300mg/kg body weight of ethanolic extract of Phyllanthus amarus) and lastly Group 3(which was the negative control) it was induced with 1,2-Dimethylhdrazine dihyrochloride only and wasn’t given anything else. The treated group and negative group were induced with DMH for a period of 9 weeks and the group3 also known as the treated group was also induced with the Phyllanthus amarus plant extract for a period of 3 weeks immediately after the end of the 1,2-DMH inducement.
