ABSTRACT
The impact of oil palm fronds ash on the geotechnical characteristics of lateritic soil is the project's main focus. In this study, the geotechnical characteristics of lateritic soil stabilized with oil palm frond ashes are evaluated. Standard Laboratory tests including Sieve analysis, Compaction, Specific gravity, Triaxial, Atterberg limit tests were performed on the lateritic soil samples. To ascertain the impact of oil palm fronds ash on the soil, the properties of the soil mixed with the oil palm frond ash was then contrasted with those of unstabilized lateritic soil (soil in its natural state). The geotechnical properties of a stabilized laterite soil was examined, as well as the impact of varying percentages of oil palm frond ash. This project discussed the effect of the application of oil palm fronds at varying percentages of 2.5%, 5.0%, and 7.5% by weight of Oil palm frond ash. The index and engineering properties of the lateritic soil in its normal state was assembled and contrasted with the properties of the soil treated with oil palm frond ash. The consequences of the review will give knowledge into the expected utilization of oil palm frond ash as a maintainable stabilizer for lateritic sub-base of parkway asphalt.
