ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to examine how ICT affects Nigerian banks' performance. In particular, it looks at how Nigerian deposit money bank performance is affected by ATM, USSD, POS, mobile banking, and electronic funds transfer activities. The 15-year research period (2008– 2022) is covered by it. It was decided to use 2008 as the base year to represent the times when Nigerian deposit money banks widely used ICT tools. We looked at the relationship between the independent and dependent variables using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) approach. The results of the study show that the performance of commercial banks is significantly improved by ATM, USSD, mobile banking, and electronic fund transfers. But the performance of commercial banks is adversely affected by the Point of Sale transaction. It is therefore advised that the banking sector make use of ICT to improve the quality of financial services it offers to its clients and to raise the awareness of its point-of-sale terminal agents regarding sound financial banking ethics. This will help to prevent financial fraud, enhance customer loyalty, and improve the economy's financial performance.
