ABSTRACT
Concrete is a fundamental construction material widely used for its durability and structural integrity. However, in certain situations, such as industrial facilities, laboratories, and healthcare environments, concrete surfaces may meet bleach-based cleaning agents. This study investigates the impact of bleach exposure on the compressive strength of concrete, an essential property for its structural performance. To assess this effect, concrete specimens were prepared and subjected to various concentrations of bleach solutions under controlled laboratory conditions. Compressive strength tests were conducted at different time intervals to monitor any deterioration caused by bleach exposure. The results were compared to a control group of concrete specimens that remained unexposed to bleach. The findings from this study provide valuable insights into the potential deleterious effects of bleach on concrete's compressive strength. Understanding the consequences of bleach exposure is crucial for maintaining the longevity and safety of concrete structures in environments where bleach-based disinfectants are commonly used. This research contributes to the broader knowledge of concrete materials and aids in developing strategies for the proper maintenance and repair of structures exposed to bleach-containing agents.
