ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to examine the economic analysis of small scale catfish farming in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo State Nigeria. The sample for the study was obtained using a two-stage sampling technique involving purposive sampling and simple random sampling of 120 respondents. The data for the study was collected from primary source. The primary source includes information generated from the administration of questionnaire in addition to scheduled interviews. Descriptive statistics such as, means, percentage and frequency count was used to examine the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents. Budgetary analysis was used to determine the cost and returns of small scale catfish production and Stochastic profit frontier function was used to estimate the profit efficiency of small scale catfish farmers in the study area.
