SUMMARY
This essay has examined the ecopoetics in A Spring of Sweets by Tony Afejuku and Oily Tears of the Delta by Ibiwari Ikiriko. The first chapter is an introduction to the essay. It documents the purpose of the study and the scope of the study to reveal the limits of the study. It then goes on to introduce the methodology of the research which is the qualitative method of research. The theoretical background of this study is then examined and explained to enhance understanding of the literary theory that guides the analysis of the work. Relevant literature from different scholars is examined to explore what other literary scholars have said on both poetry texts used for the analysis and on the subject of ecopoetics. The chapter one concludes with a thesis statement that guides the chapters and breakdown of the subtopics that informs the research.
