ABSTRACT
This research work examines e-commerce and e-banking service in Nigeria. The objectives of the study are to find out customers reasons for the adoption of e-banking in banking services, to determine the benefits customers derive by the provision of e-banking facilities in the banking service, to identify challenges faced by customers in using e-banking. Facilities in banking services and to identify customer’s perception on the strategies put in place to address e-banking challenges in banking services. A total of 152 questioners were administered and used. The finding reveals that customer's reasons for the adoption of e- banking service was sufficiently reasonable, benefit customers derived by provision of e-banking services were fairly high, challenges encountered in using e-banking facilities were moderately high and strategies put in place to reduce e-banking challenges were fairly ok. The study concluded that electronic banking remains a strategic tool employed by banks to gain competitive edge both within and outside the boundaries of Nigeria today; hence customers should maximize the potentials and benefits provided to them by e-banking banking service.
