ABSTRACT

  Gecko specimens were collected by hand from female hostels within the University of Benin, Ugbowo campus between January to February, 2022 and October to November, 2022. A broom was used to dislodge them from the wall without applying much pressure that could cause injury on them. The broom was used to restrain them before picking them up at the neck region and kept in ventilated plastic bottles and taken to the laboratory for identification.  A total number of forty (40) gecko specimens were examined in this study comprising of two species Hemidactylus angulatus and Hemidactylus mabouia.
