This study adopted a survey research design sampling technique in order to achieve the purpose of this study, four (4) research questions were raised. The sample for the study consist of two hundred (200) respondents who were selected using the simple random sampling method. Data was collected within the aid of questionnaire. The validity and reliability of the instrument were ascertained based on experts' judgement and feedback. Simple percentage and frequency count were used to analyse the collected data. Based on the findings of the study, it was ascertained that though diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, etc. is adequately represented and celebrated within the university and that there is enough transparency in the admission, recruitment and promotion processes to ensure diversity among faculty and staff. However, the University of Benin faces a complex landscape of challenges and opportunities in promoting diversity and inclusion within its community such as lack of awareness about diversity and inclusion within the University of Benin in Nigeria, insufficient support system for underrepresented groups inadequate resources and support services for stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and insufficient accessible facilities and resources for students with disabilities. In addition, the university does not foster a culture of inclusivity and respect for diversity among it's members Therefore, addressing these key challenges requires a concerted effort from institutional leaders and stakeholders to implement targeted interventions, policies, and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the University of Benin community. Finally it was recommended that the University and Higher Institutions across Nigeria should Implement campus-wide awareness campaigns and educational programs to promote understanding of diversity and inclusion. Universities and higher institutions should strengthen resources and support services tailored to underrepresented groups to enhance retention and success. Higher Education should ensure sufficient funding for diversity initiatives, cultural events, and accessibility enhancements. Nigeria government under/ through the Ministry of education and the National University Commission (NUC) should review and revise institutional policies to mitigate systemic barriers and promote equity. Nigeria government and educational bodies should Invest in infrastructure upgrades and accommodations for students with disabilities.
