This study was designed to ascertain the integration of the Discrimination and Stigmatization Of Hearing Impaired Students and Challenges They Faced In An Inclusive Classroom oredo local government area, Benin city. Four (4) research questions were formulated to guide the study. The study adopted a descriptive survey. The total population of students in The population gotten from eight (8) special schools for hearing impaired students in oredo local government area, Benin, Edo state is one thousand (1000) students as registered by the Edo state ministry of education as at student enrolment 2023.
A simple random sampling technique was utilised to select hundred (100) students and was drawn from special schools in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State. This was selected using a multi-stage sampling procedure. A simple random technique will be used by the researcher to select the respondents. THE research instrument for the study was a Questionnaire titled: “the Discrimination and Stigmatization Of Hearing Impaired Students and Challenges They Faced In An Inclusive Classroom Oredo local government area (DSHISCICQ)”, which was distributed to the respondents and collected immediately after completion from respondents. The simple percentage and mean score was used in computing the responses of the questionnaire items. To account for the reliability of the study, the Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used which gave a value of 0.742. This findings highlight the multifaceted nature of challenges faced by hearing impaired students in inclusive educational settings and underscore the importance of targeted interventions to promote inclusivity, combat discrimination and stigmatization, and ensure the full participation and success of all students.
