ABSTRACT
The Discrete Weibull Distribution is a statistical model that extends the uses of the continuous Weibull distribution to discrete data and as such can be considered in reliability and survival analyses where the variable of interest involves some kind of count . It is a probability distribution used in statistics to model discrete data. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the discrete Weibull distribution and its statistical properties, focusing on parameter estimation and real-life applications such as The literature review which encompasses of various formulations and applications of the discrete Weibull distribution, emphasizing on its versatility in reliability engineering, survival analysis .The study delves into parameter estimation techniques, focusing on (MLE) and (LSE) . Statistical properties such as the probability mass function, cumulative distribution function, survival function, hazard function, and moment generating function are derived and discussed in detail. To illustrate the practical utility of the discrete Weibull distribution, application of the distribution is considered by analyzing a real-life dataset with Statistical properties such as the survival and hazard functions are compared and interpreted. Finally, the proposed distribution has been fitted and the fit has been found to be good.
