DETERMINATION OF BLOOD CONCENTRATION OF RENAL FUNCTIONS IN HYPERTENSIVE /DIABETIC AND THOSE WITH PREGNANCY INDUCED HYPERTENSION SUBJECTS.

ABSTRACT

Hypertension also known as high blood pressure (HBP), is a long-term medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated. Long-term high blood pressure, however, is a major risk factor for stroke, coronary artery disease. e..t.c. Pregnancy-induced hypertension is high blood pressure that occurs during pregnancy.Preeclampsia is a condition that usually starts after the 20th week of pregnancy and is due to increased blood pressure and protein in the urine. Renal function test (RFT), also known as kidney function test is a group of tests used to assess the functions of kidney. The aim of this study is to   estimate the blood concentration of electrolyte, urea and creatinine in hypertensive/diabetes and pregnancy induced hypertensive subjects. This study compares the level of blood concentration of the renal function parameters in hypertensive diabetic subjects and that of pregnancy induced hypertensive subjects. It also compares the respective variables with their control variables. From the results, it shows that there is a significant difference in hypertensive/ diabetic subjects and their control and also pregnancy induced hypertensives and their control since ( p>0.05) in the mean of electrolyte, urea and creatinine assays
