ABSTRACT
This study examines the various factors that influence customers in the selection of their bank choices in Nigeria. It investigates the rate of bank selection that is determined by personal factors, economic factors, security factors and technological factors. However, the population of this study is geographically limited to banks within the University of Benin, Benin city, Edo state. This study used primary data collected from a well structured questionnaire which investigates bank customers using the personal, economic, security and technological factors. To this end, this study will conclude that the economic factor has a highly significant effect on the selection of bank choice while other factors had little to no significance on why customers choose certain banks. Therefore it is necessary that banks should develop banking products that will appeal to economic conditions of the banking environment and to the various income brackets of its existing and new customers
