ABSTRACT
We are building and designing a Lift out compact Crucible furnace which can be operated easily. For our compact furnace we have decided to use diesel as a primary fuel because of its availability, high flame temperature and its chemical properties. A Crucible is designed and built which will hold the metal (solid and molten). Required metal handling tools are also to be made available for easy handling of the molten metal. The components of furnace were furnace casing, crucible, furnace cover, burner housing, base stand and burner. Stainless steel sheet was used for the fabrication of the furnace, while the other components needed for the design were selected based on functionality, durability, cost and local availability Keywords: Crucible Furnace, Diesel.
