ABSTRACT
This project presents the design of rug washing machine. The project work represents the transformation of theoretical knowledge and practical exposures into real life situation drawn from Master in Engineering (M.Eng) programme.
The hardware is a locally manufactured machine, which is indispensable to the dry cleaning industries in the country; it will equally enhance the technological advancement of this country in terms of industrialization, as the raw material was sourced locally.
The write up consists of five chapters. Chapter one throws light on the introduction, general background and motivation for the project and specific objectives. Chapter two dwells on the review of related literature. Chapter three takes an in depth look at the methodology which encompass the design calculation, ergonomics and safety precautions during use, and concluded by the manufacturing process. Chapter 4 deals with performances evaluation and bill of quantity. Chapter 5 highlights the conclusion drawn and recommendation proffered. References, appendices that include raw data, presentation and drawing conclude the write up.
