DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A DIGITAL CLOCK WITH TEMPERATURE DISPLAY FEATURES

ABSTRACT

The project was on the design and construction of Digital Clock with Temperature display features. This device is capable of displaying time in seconds, minute, hour, day, month, and year. It also measures the temperature of the environment and displays it in digital form. The project was realized using an RTC chip to keep track of time in seconds, minute, hour, day, month, and year. An LM35 temperature sensor was used to measure temperature, an ADC was used to convert the analog temperature to digital form. An 8052 microcontroller was used to manipulate the data to give output. 5×4 inches seven segment displays were used to show digital output. After the design, construction and testing, project behaved satisfactorily as the seven segment displays displayed the output satisfactorily.
