ABSTRACT

The broad objective of this study was to examine the effects of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on the entrepreneurial success of businesses in Nigeria. The population of the study consisted of 500 entrepreneurs in Ovia North East Local Government in Edo State. However, sample of the study consisted two hundred (200) entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. 200 copies of questionnaire are distributed to respondents but 150 valid responses are received. The collected data was annalysed using simple percentage, descriptive statistics, and ordinary least squares(OLS) regression. The results of the findings show the following. First, the results reveal a negative and significant relationship between economic responsibilities and entrepreneurial success.  Second, the results show a positive and insignificant ethical responsibilities and entrepreneurial success. Third, the results reveal a positive and insignificant relationship between legal responsibilities and entrepreneurial success. Finally, the results show a positive and significant relationship between philanthropic responsibilities and the entrepreneurial success.
