Abstract
The broad objective of this study is to examine corporate governance and corporate social/environmental disclosures.
The method of analysis to be used is the Ordinary Least Square Multiple Regression technique.
From the findings we observed, there was no significant relationship between Audit Committee meeting (AudCM) and Corporate Environmental Disclosure of firms, also no significant relationship between Board Size (BSize) and Corporate Environmental Disclosure, we also observed a positive significant relationship between Board Independence (BInd) and Corporate Environmental Disclosure, and there was no significant relationship between Board Meeting (BMeet) and Corporate Environmental Disclosure.
We recommended thatCorporate environmental disclosure themes should be established to provide foundation for enhancing environmental information disclosures among firms.
Since Board Independence has a positive and significant relationship with environmental disclosure, management should ensure that the independent nature of the board should be upheld by avoiding external influence at all cost.
