ABSTRACT
This research project analyzed the contribution of small-scale business enterprises in Economic Growth and Development of Nigeria. To know if small business enterprises make a significant contribution to our total economic growth and development, to find out whether or not small business enterprises contribute to the economic growth and development of the country and if customers are satisfied by the services tendered by small scale business. The researcher made use of both primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through a filed study of seven selected bakeries in Benin City. The researcher also made use of personal interviews, observations and structured questionnaires. From the research study, the researcher found out that Small-scale industry (bakery business enterprise) contributes to the economic growth and development of Nigeria. The researcher found that Small scale business enterprise (Bakery) encourages the use of local resources in larger scale quantity in Nigeria. From the above finding, the researcher recommends that government should directly enlarge the market for small-scale enterprises by subcontracting maintenance and repair services that public agencies might otherwise perform themselves and also the researcher recommends the availability of credit to small scale business enterprise firms.
