SUMMARY
The role of plants in heath care delivery cannot be over emphasized. This study revealed a high dependence of the people of Isoko communities on medicinal plants for survival. From the study, it was observed that seventy-five plants distributed among thirty-nine families were frequently used to manage and treat ailments. These plants can be further investigated for use in making drugs. Finally, since Psidium guajava was found to be mostly used among the Isoko people in the treatment of diarheal, further studies need to be conducted to ascertain the actual dosages for the treatment of each ailment. This in no small way will enhance health care delivery both in the community studied and outside the study area.
