ABSTRACT
Code switching and code mixing is a phenomena in the field of sociolinguistics are commonly found both orally and in written form especially in bilingual or multilingual societies as observed in the Nigerian movie industry. This study examines the impact of code switching and code mixing and how they are projected in the Nigerian movie “King of Boys” as directed and produced by Kemi Adetiba. The aim of this research is to find out the types of code switching and code mixing used in the movie and the role they play. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The findings of this research were that three types of code switching were frequently used: Tag switching, Inter sentential and Intra sentential Code Switching. The inter sentential code switching was used more often than the other types in the movie. Also, in the movie, the three types of Code mixing were used. The Alternation code mixing was used more often than the others.
