SUMMARY
The discussion in this study offers the opportunity to recap the findings and relate some of the contentious issue between Christianity and African traditional rituals. This research is aimed at finding out the Christian influence on traditional marriage system in Benin. For proper understanding of the problem of study, historical method was adopted. In treating this problem as assumption was made that there is a linkage between traditional marriage system and the contemporary Christian marriage system which have to do with the binding together of man and woman to become a one union. To justify this assumption, relevant literature and other related documents were reviewed and analyzed and the result shows that there are interfaces between traditional marriage system and western culture marriage system.
