CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF DRUG ABUSE AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN ISOKO NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF DELTA STATE

ABSTRACT

This research work was meant to examine the role of NAFDAC in curbing drug trafficking in Nigeria. In this regard, chapter one provided a background to the study. Chapter Two took a cursory look at the history, functions, mission, and vision statements of the agency. The research's aims, objectives, and study scope provided clear direction for the investigation. The review of relevant literature in chapter two revealed that many Nigerians praised NAFDAC's effective performance, which was achieved through public awareness campaigns conducted by the agency's public relations unit. In chapter three, the researcher employed the survey method to administer the research instrument for oral interviews with personnel in the pharmaceutical industry. In chapter four, the study identified and analyzed the challenges and shortcomings. 1The results indicate that the public relations department has effectively promoted the agency's activities. Furthermore, NAFDAC has fulfilled its expected responsibilities, and the management actively supports the public relations unit in carrying out its promotional duties.
