CARTOONS IN THE ILAJE

ABSTRACT

This project investigates the potential of animation and cartoons as tools for raising awareness about the Ilaje people, their language, and their culture.  The project is grounded in the Theory of Cultural Sustainability, which emphasizes the importance of preserving and transmitting cultural heritage for future generations.  Through an extensive evaluation of existing literatures, the project examined selected works on animation, cartoons, and cultural preservation.  Data was collected through interviews with Ilaje speakers to understand their perspectives on language and cultural identity.  The findings illuminate the potential of animation and cartoons to engage audiences and promote the Ilaje language and culture, particularly among younger generations. This project contributes to the ongoing efforts of cultural sustainability within the Ilaje community. By exploring the impact of introducing cartoons and animations in the Ilaje dialect, the study highlights the significance of cultural preservation, language revitalization, and community empowerment through innovative approaches to multimedia content production.
