ABSTRACT

Utilizing share prices as a market value gauge and the debt ratio as one capital structure variable, this research investigates the effects of capital structure on the market value of non-financial firms in Nigeria. Liquidity and company size are used as independent controls. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and the panel OLS regression approach were used to investigate a sample of seven Nigerian oil and gas companies that were listed between 2017 and 2021. The different studies were used to investigate the impact of capital structure variables on the market value of non-financial enterprises in Nigeria. The empirical findings showed that capital structure of companies considerably affects market value of non-financial companies in Nigeria. The findings led to a number of significant recommendations that the government, policymakers, and financial managers may all benefit from.
