BOARD GENDER DIVERSITY AND PERFORMANCE OF QUOTED MONEY DEPOSIT BANKS IN NIGERIA.

ABSTRACT

This study examined board gender diversity and performance of quoted money deposit banks in Nigeria. The study adopted the longitudinal research design. The study population comprised of 17 quoted deposit money banks on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) by April 30, 2022 which constitutes the sample size. The selected financial measures were return on equity and asset (ROE & ROA). Findings showed an insignificant relationship between the percentages of females, duration women spend as board directors and financial performance, while board number and financial performance reported significant relationship. We therefore recommend that firms should look to diversify their corporate board-composition.
