ABSTRACT
The political influence of Benin Market Women Association as an interest group cannot be denied. This study of Benin Market Women Association in politics from 1999 to 2015 discussed the role and influence of Benin Market Women Association in Benin politics. The result explicitly reveals that the numeric strength of the association enhances the political relevance of Benin Market women. This association despite being an interest group is regarded as valuable political allies by local politicians who aim to leverage on their numeric strength for political score against their opponents. As the result clearly shows, the association plays important role in the three important political stages.
