Abstract
This study examines the awareness, knowledge and compliance to campaigns against jungle justice on radio by residents of oredo local government. In order to carry out the study, the Survey research design was selected as the appropriate method to apply, and the analysis of the facts received from the field was conducted through the application of the basic percentage approach and tables. The findings from the data analysis clearly reveal that the cases of jungle justice in Benin city have been completely destroyed, and the roles of the broadcast media are not effective. It was concluded that the role of the broadcast media in preventing the practice of jungle justice is not visible and effective; however, it was recommended that the broadcast media make the reportage of jungle more frequent and also join hand with the government to sensitize the people on jungle justice, what the law says about those that are involved in it, and how those involved can be punished for practicing it. The social responsibility press theory and the agenda setting theory serve as the cornerstones of this investigation.
