AVAILABILITY OF PROFESSIONALLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS FOR EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF ENGLISH STUDIES IN JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN OREDO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF EDO STATE

ABSTRACT

The availability of highly educated teachers for efficient English study instruction and learning in junior secondary schools in Edo State's Oredo Local Government Area was the subject of the study. For this study, a descriptive survey research design was chosen. To direct the investigation, four research questions were posed. Data was gathered via the creation and application of a questionnaire. 42 respondents comprised the study's sample size. The frequency count, percentages, mean, and standard deviation were used to assess the data that were gathered. The results showed that secondary school English studies instructors in Edo State's Oredo Local Government Area have formal academic training. It was determined that, in the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, there are no appreciable differences in the qualifications held by male and female English studies teachers. Thus, among other things, it was suggested that the government make more deliberate attempts to guarantee the proper hiring of English language instructors.
