ABSTRACT
The various attempt made at supplying equipment to technical institution and the subsequent lack of trained personnel, lack of maintenance and poor supply were highlighted in this paper. The fundamental ingredient of all vocational technical education programs is skill development. This skill is not acquired in the vacuum, but is rather developed by qualified staff in an effectively operating workshop replete with the latest equipment’s. It was recommended that technical teachers should be directly involved in equipment selection, purchase and supply as to fall in line with standard required. This will ensure that technical teachers are familiar with the equipment been procured and installation process to avoid wastages and undue breakdown.
