ABSTRACT
This study examined the perception of the audience, on the influence of man around town radio programme, in promoting national development in Nigeria. The study was built around development media theory, and the perception theory as its theoretical framework. The study adopted the survey research method as its research design and employed the questionnaire as data collection instrument for the study. 269 copies of questionnaire were administered to respondents and this was aided using stratified and simple random sampling techniques. The study found out that the man around town radio programme, is one that promotes the course for national development in Nigeria. However, the study also reveals that, the programme needs to do more in order to effectively promote the course for national development in the country. The study recommends that Subsequent research on media programmes that has to do with national development of Nigeria, should be carried out, in order to contribute, update, develop, and increase existing literature on media and national development.
