This study was designed to ascertain the integration of the Attitudinal disposition of cooperative teaching among special teachers and regular teachers in special schools in Benin metropolis. The study adopted a descriptive survey. The total population of special teachers in Special Schools Oredo Local Government Area is 45 and 65 regular teachers from Idia college and Ihogbe college, public secondary schools in the sampled area. A total number of 100 made up the population of the study. The random sampling technique was used to select the respondents for this study.
The research instrument for the study was a Questionnaire titled: “The Attitudinal disposition of cooperative teaching among special teachers and regular teachers in special schools in Benin metropolis”, which was distributed to the respondents and collected immediately after completion from respondents. Four research questions were raised to guide the study. The sample percentage and mean score was used in computing the responses of the questionnaire items.
The findings from the presented research provide valuable insights into the attitudes of both special and regular teachers towards cooperative teaching in special schools in Benin metropolis, as well as the impact of cooperative teaching on students and the encouragement provided by teachers. The analysis of teachers' attitudes towards cooperative teaching revealed generally positive sentiments across the board. For RQ1, special and regular teachers demonstrated supportive attitudes towards cooperative teaching, with the majority of items reflecting mean responses above the criterion mean of 2.5. Notably, item 2 stood out as particularly supportive, indicating strong agreement among teachers regarding the benefits of cooperative teaching. However, item 3 showed a slightly lower mean response, suggesting some divergence in opinions among respondents.
