ABSTRACT
This study was carried to examine the attitudes towards sanitation among university of Benin students by surveying the undergraduate halls of residence. Four research questions were raised to guide the study. The study made use of descriptive survey research design which involves collecting information from a target population. The population of the study comprises the students residing in the University of Benin undergraduate halls of residence (30,840). A sample size of 80 respondents was used and the simple random sampling technique was use to select the sample used for the study. A self-made questionnaire was designed to elicit response. The research instrument was validated by the researcher’s supervisor and two other lecturers in the department of health, safety and environmental education. The test-retest method of reliability was used and a coefficient of 0.87 was obtained which was good. Data was analyzed using simple statistical analysis such as frequency counts and percentage.
